About 20 minutes to the office · Palm Beach County

Last updated September 2026 · Reviewed by Dr. Carol McNamara-Krauss, DC
A car accident doctor for Highland Beach is twenty minutes south, just over the Palm Beach County line on US-1. Car Accident Doctors Group, the accident-injury practice of Dr. Carol McNamara-Krauss, DC, is at 3320 N Federal Hwy #107 in Lighthouse Point, between Sample Road and Copans Road. Highland Beach is a three-mile town on A1A between Boca Raton and Delray Beach, and there is no medical office of any kind inside it, so every resident drives somewhere for care.
Residents of Bel Lido Isle, Boca Highland and the oceanfront towers along A1A come to us because the office is in Broward County but the PIP rules are not: Florida's no-fault statute is the same in every county, and the drive down Federal Highway is shorter than the drive to most Palm Beach clinics. Dr. McNamara-Krauss has 30 years in practice. Janelle Deal, our case coordinator, has 30 years in Florida PIP claims. Call (754) 342-6479, answered 24/7. Saturday appointments are by request.
Crash corridors, the nearest ER, and where the claim gets filed
Highland Beach has one road, A1A, with no signals inside town limits, and its crashes come from condominium driveways. Drivers exiting the towers turn across two lanes of through traffic that is moving faster than the posted limit, and the result is side-impact and T-bone crashes on the driver's side. At the south end, the A1A signal at Spanish River Boulevard in Boca Raton is the town's rear-end spot. At the north end, Linton Boulevard in Delray Beach and the bridge over the Intracoastal is the other one. Cyclists ride A1A through Highland Beach in packs on weekend mornings, and the crashes between cars and riders produce knee and leg injuries and shoulder injuries on both sides.
The nearest emergency rooms are Boca Raton Regional Hospital, part of Baptist Health, to the south, and Delray Medical Center, the area trauma center on Linton Boulevard, to the north. Either is about ten minutes from the middle of town and either is the right first stop for a head injury, loss of consciousness, chest pain, fracture or numbness. We screen for head injury and concussion and refer them; we do not treat them here. For the attorney reader, Highland Beach cases are filed in Palm Beach County at the South County Courthouse in Delray Beach. Records from this office arrive as one PDF and include the first-visit orthopedic and neurological testing with range-of-motion measurements, documented the same day, and a treatment note for every visit.
Florida PIP does not change at the county line. It pays 80% of reasonable medical expenses up to $10,000 if initial treatment begins within 14 days of the crash. Without an emergency medical condition (EMC) determination, the benefit is limited to $2,500. An EMC can only be determined by an MD, DO, PA or APRN, not by a chiropractor; this office refers patients out for that determination. Highland Beach has many seasonal residents, and the 14 days keep running after the flight home, so the first exam should happen here before you leave. Chiropractic care is covered under section 627.736. This is general information, not legal advice. Dr. Carol McNamara-Krauss is a Florida-licensed chiropractic physician (DC), license CH5281.
Getting to 3320 N Federal Hwy #107
From anywhere on A1A in Highland Beach: drive south into Boca Raton to Spanish River Boulevard and turn west. Cross the Intracoastal and continue to Federal Highway. Turn south on US-1 and stay on it through downtown Boca, past Camino Real, across the Hillsboro Canal into Deerfield Beach, past Hillsboro Boulevard and Sample Road. The 3320 building is on the left in Lighthouse Point, before Copans Road. About twenty minutes.
From the north end near Linton Boulevard, you can also take Linton west to Federal Highway and go south from there; the run down US-1 is a few minutes longer but avoids the Spanish River signal. Suite 107 is on the ground floor with parking in front.

“Doctor is ALWAYS on time, never a wait. Quick, efficient, and Dawn and Vic are most kind, patient and professional. They go above and beyond just a well-organized visit at the Chiropractor. I have sent my clients to her and they are all very happy. They treat everyone like family, and always nail what we go in for. Highly recommend”

Car accident doctor for Highland Beach: questions
Is there a shorter route than Federal Highway?
Federal Highway is the direct route, and it takes about twenty minutes from the middle of A1A: south to Spanish River Boulevard, west to US-1, then south through Boca and Deerfield to Sample Road. I-95 from Yamato Road to Sample Road is an alternative when downtown Boca is backed up, but the time is similar. The 3320 building is on the left before Copans Road.
Why cross the county line for an accident doctor?
Because the county line changes nothing about your coverage and the office is closer than most alternatives. Florida PIP under section 627.736 is statewide, and a Highland Beach policyholder is treated the same in Lighthouse Point as in Boca Raton. What you get is a same-day exam, treatment on the first visit and a record built for personal injury attorneys. This is general information, not legal advice.
Which hospital should I go to first?
Boca Raton Regional Hospital to the south and Delray Medical Center to the north are each about ten minutes from the middle of town. Delray Medical Center is the area trauma center. Go to either for a head injury, loss of consciousness, chest pain, fracture or numbness. For neck, back, shoulder or knee pain with no red flags, come to us directly; we do not treat head injuries.
I was hit pulling out of my building onto A1A. What gets examined?
A driver's-side impact produces shoulder, rib and hip injuries on the struck side and a lateral neck strain. The first-visit exam checks each joint, measures range of motion, and runs orthopedic and neurological tests, all documented the same day. Massage therapy with Dawn Marie Teufel, LMT, and therapeutic ultrasound are often part of the soft-tissue plan.
I leave for the season in two weeks. Is that enough time to start?
Yes, if you call now. Florida PIP requires initial treatment within 14 days of the crash, and the window does not pause when you travel. Book the same-day exam at (754) 342-6479, get the baseline documented, and the records go with you as one PDF for your attorney or your home provider. Saturday appointments are available by request.
Do you accept patients with a Palm Beach County attorney?
Yes. Janelle Deal coordinates with personal injury firms in Delray Beach, Boca Raton and throughout Palm Beach County, and the records work the same at the South County Courthouse as they do in Broward. Attorneys can use the refer-a-client form or call (754) 342-6479. Narrative reports are available on request.
When is this office not the right fit for a Highland Beach patient?
Head injuries, concussion, fractures, lacerations and internal injuries belong at Boca Raton Regional Hospital or Delray Medical Center first. Emergency medical condition determinations require an MD, DO, PA or APRN, so we refer out for them. If you cannot manage a twenty-minute drive several times a week during the plan, an office in Boca or Delray is a fair choice.
Injured on the road in Highland Beach? The 14-day clock is running.
Call (754) 342-6479, any hour, or send the short form. You will see Dr. McNamara-Krauss, not a rotating provider, and your first treatment happens the same visit.
