Car Accident Doctors Group is the accident-injury practice of Dr. Carol McNamara-Krauss, DC, and Lighthouse Point is our city. The office is at 3320 N Federal Hwy #107, on US-1 between Copans Road and Sample Road. If you live in Coral Key, Harbor Village or Venetian Isles, you drive past our building every time you head to the grocery store or the Yacht Club. Most of our neighbors can be in the exam room within five minutes of leaving their driveway.

People in Lighthouse Point come to us because the alternative is a long wait at an urgent care or a drive down to Fort Lauderdale for a specialist. We see crash patients the same day they call. Dr. McNamara-Krauss has 30 years in practice, Janelle Deal has 30 years handling Florida PIP claims, and Elizabeth Celestin, APRN, and Dawn Marie Teufel, LMT, round out the team. The phone, (754) 342-6479, is answered 24/7. Saturday appointments are available by request. Se habla español.

Crash corridors, the nearest ER, and where the claim gets filed

Lighthouse Point is a small city with one real traffic problem: Federal Highway. US-1 forms the western edge of the city, and the signals at Sample Road and Copans Road stack up rear-end collisions during the morning rush and the late-afternoon school run. Inside the city, the low-speed crashes happen on NE 24th Street near Frank McDonough Park, at the Yacht Club entrance and in the parking lots along Federal. Low speed does not mean no injury. A 10 mph rear-end impact is enough to cause whiplash, and the pain often shows up two or three days later.

If anyone in the car lost consciousness, has a head wound, chest pain, numbness in the legs or trouble breathing, go to the emergency room first. The closest is Broward Health North on Sample Road, west of I-95 in Deerfield Beach, about ten minutes from the Hillsboro Inlet side of town. Head injuries and concussion are screened here and referred out; we do not treat them. For the attorney reader, Lighthouse Point cases are filed in Broward County, and the Broward County Courthouse is in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Records from this office go out as one PDF from a proprietary case documentation system built in consultation with personal injury attorneys.

Florida's PIP law gives you 14 days from the crash to get your first treatment or you lose the benefit. For a Lighthouse Point resident that deadline is easy to meet: you can walk in the door within the hour. PIP pays 80% of reasonable medical expenses up to $10,000, but without an emergency medical condition (EMC) determination the benefit is limited to $2,500. An EMC can only be determined by an MD, DO, PA or APRN, not by a chiropractor, and this office does not make EMC determinations; we refer patients out for them. Read the details on our 14-day rule page. This is general information, not legal advice. Dr. Carol McNamara-Krauss is a Florida-licensed chiropractic physician (DC), license CH5281.

Getting to 3320 N Federal Hwy #107

From Venetian Isles or Coral Key, take NE 24th Street west to Federal Highway. Turn north. The 3320 building is on the right before you reach Sample Road. Suite 107 is on the ground floor.

From Lighthouse Point Estates or Lake Placid on the north end, go south on Federal Highway from Sample Road. The building is on your left about half a mile down, before Copans Road. From the Hillsboro Shores side of the inlet, cross the A1A bridge, take NE 14th Street Causeway or Atlantic Boulevard west to Federal, then head north past Copans.

Doctor is ALWAYS on time, never a wait. Quick, efficient, and Dawn and Vic are most kind, patient and professional. They go above and beyond just a well-organized visit at the Chiropractor. I have sent my clients to her and they are all very happy. They treat everyone like family, and always nail what we go in for. Highly recommend

Car accident doctor for Lighthouse Point: questions

How fast can I be seen after a crash on Federal Highway?

The same day you call is the answer for anyone in our city. The office sits on US-1 between Copans Road and Sample Road, so the drive from any street in Lighthouse Point is under five minutes. Call (754) 342-6479 at any hour; the line is answered 24/7 and the front desk books you into the next open exam slot with Dr. McNamara-Krauss.

Is there parking at the office?

Yes, the 3320 N Federal Hwy building has its own lot with parking in front of the suites. Suite 107 is on the ground floor, so there are no stairs between the car and the exam room. If your neck or back is too sore to drive, the office is close enough to most Lighthouse Point neighborhoods that a rideshare from Venetian Isles or Coral Key costs very little.

Where is the nearest emergency room?

Broward Health North, on Sample Road just west of I-95 in Deerfield Beach, is the closest emergency room to Lighthouse Point. Go there first if anyone in the car lost consciousness, has a head wound, chest pain, numbness in the legs or trouble breathing. Once you are cleared, come to us for the exam and the treatment plan. We screen head injuries and refer them out.

Do I need a referral to come in?

No referral is required. Florida law lets you see a chiropractic physician directly, and PIP covers chiropractic care when you begin treatment within 14 days of the crash. Bring your driver license, your auto insurance card and the crash report or exchange-of-information slip if you have it. Janelle Deal handles the PIP paperwork from there. This is general information, not legal advice.

What if my crash happened somewhere else, like on I-95 or the Turnpike?

The location of the crash does not matter for your care. A collision on I-95 at Sample Road, on the Turnpike or in a parking lot on Federal Highway gets the same exam and the same PIP timeline. What matters is that you are seen within 14 days and that the injury is documented with orthopedic and neurological testing on the first visit.

Can my attorney get the records the same day?

Records are produced from the first visit forward, and we send them as one PDF when your attorney requests them. The initial exam includes range-of-motion measurements and orthopedic and neurological testing documented the same day. Treatment notes are written on every visit. Narrative reports are available on request. See medical documentation for what is included.

When is this office not the right first stop?

Any suspected head injury, fracture, internal bleeding or spinal cord injury belongs at Broward Health North or another emergency room before it comes to us. We do not treat concussion; we screen for it and refer. We also do not make EMC determinations, which require an MD, DO, PA or APRN. After those are handled, the rest of the recovery can happen here on Federal Highway.
