About 8 minutes to the office · Broward County

Last updated September 2026 · Reviewed by Dr. Carol McNamara-Krauss, DC
A car accident doctor for Lauderdale-by-the-Sea is eight minutes away by way of the Commercial Boulevard bridge and Federal Highway. Car Accident Doctors Group, the accident-injury practice of Dr. Carol McNamara-Krauss, DC, is at 3320 N Federal Hwy #107 in Lighthouse Point, between Copans Road and Sample Road. From Anglin's Square, Bel-Air or Terra Mar Island, we are the nearest accident-injury office north of the bridge.
Lauderdale-by-the-Sea patients are usually hurt in one of two ways: a low-speed crash in the tight streets around El Mar Drive and the pier, or a highway-speed crash on Commercial Boulevard or Federal Highway on the way to work. Both kinds get the same handling here: an exam the day you call, treatment that starts the same visit and records built for an attorney. Dr. McNamara-Krauss has 30 years in practice. Call (754) 342-6479, answered 24/7.
Crash corridors, the nearest ER, and where the claim gets filed
Commercial Boulevard is the town's only real road, and the bridge over the Intracoastal is where its crashes cluster. Traffic backs up on the bridge approach in both directions during beach season, and the stop-and-go pattern produces rear-end collisions from A1A all the way west to Federal Highway and the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport area. The A1A signal at Commercial, by Anglin's Square, is the town's main side-impact location, with pedestrians, cyclists and drivers looking for parking all crossing at once. El Mar Drive and the side streets in Bel-Air and Silver Shores are slow but tight, and backing-out crashes there still produce neck and shoulder injuries. Sea Ranch Lakes residents share the same A1A corridor north to Pompano.
The nearest emergency rooms are Broward Health Imperial Point and Holy Cross Health, both on Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale south of the bridge, each about ten minutes away. Go to either for any head injury, loss of consciousness, chest pain, fracture or numbness. We screen for head injury and concussion and refer them; we do not treat them here. For the attorney reader, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea cases are filed in Broward County at the courthouse in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The first visit here produces orthopedic and neurological testing and range-of-motion measurements documented the same day, and treatment notes follow on every visit.
Florida PIP pays 80% of reasonable medical expenses up to $10,000 if initial treatment begins within 14 days of the crash. Without an emergency medical condition (EMC) determination, the benefit is limited to $2,500. An EMC can only be determined by an MD, DO, PA or APRN, not by a chiropractor; this office does not make EMC determinations and refers patients out for them. A visitor hurt on Commercial Boulevard during a week at the beach has the same 14 days as a resident, and the clock keeps running after checkout. Chiropractic care is covered under section 627.736. This is general information, not legal advice. Dr. Carol McNamara-Krauss is a Florida-licensed chiropractic physician (DC), license CH5281.
Getting to 3320 N Federal Hwy #107
From Anglin's Square or El Mar Drive: take Commercial Boulevard west across the Intracoastal bridge to Federal Highway. Turn north on US-1 and drive about three miles, through the Pompano Beach stretch and past Atlantic Boulevard and Copans Road. The 3320 building is on the right before Sample Road. Suite 107 is on the ground floor.
From Bel-Air, Silver Shores or Sea Ranch Lakes: you can also take A1A north to Atlantic Boulevard in Pompano, turn west to Federal Highway, then north past Copans Road. That route avoids the Commercial bridge when it is up. Either way, plan on about eight minutes.

Car accident doctor for Lauderdale-by-the-Sea: questions
How do I get to the office from the pier?
Take Commercial Boulevard west over the Intracoastal, turn north on Federal Highway, and drive about three miles past Atlantic Boulevard and Copans Road. The 3320 building is on the right before Sample Road, and Suite 107 is on the ground floor with parking in front. The trip takes about eight minutes outside of beach-season bridge delays.
Which hospital is closest for an emergency?
Broward Health Imperial Point and Holy Cross Health are both on Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale, roughly ten minutes south of the Commercial Boulevard bridge. Go to either first for a head injury, loss of consciousness, chest pain, fracture or numbness. For neck pain, back pain and stiffness with no red flags, come directly to our office; we do not treat head injuries here.
I was hit on the Commercial Boulevard bridge approach. Is that a typical whiplash crash?
Yes, the bridge approach is a classic rear-end setting: slow traffic, a sudden stop, and a driver behind you looking at the water. Whiplash from that kind of impact often shows up two to three days later as neck stiffness and headache. The first-visit exam measures cervical range of motion and documents it the same day. See our whiplash page for symptoms to watch.
Do you treat vacationers who were in a crash during their stay?
Yes. Visitors staying near El Mar Drive get the same same-day exam as residents, and the records go home with them as one PDF. The 14-day PIP window starts on the crash date, so get the first exam before you leave. Coverage for an out-of-state vehicle depends on your own policy; Janelle Deal reviews it with you. This is general information, not legal advice.
Can massage therapy be part of the treatment plan?
Yes. Dawn Marie Teufel, LMT, provides massage therapy in the office as part of a documented treatment plan for soft-tissue injuries, which are common in the low-speed crashes around Anglin's Square. It is prescribed by Dr. McNamara-Krauss and noted on each visit. PIP covers treatment that is part of the plan under section 627.736. This is general information, not legal advice.
How soon after the crash should I call?
The same day is best, and the same week is the minimum. Florida PIP requires initial treatment within 14 days of the crash. The phone, (754) 342-6479, is answered 24/7, and the front desk books the next open exam slot. From Lauderdale-by-the-Sea the drive is eight minutes up Federal Highway, so there is no reason to let the window close.
What is outside the scope of this office?
Head injuries and concussion are screened and referred, not treated. Fractures, lacerations and internal injuries go to Broward Health Imperial Point or Holy Cross Health first. We do not make emergency medical condition determinations, which require an MD, DO, PA or APRN. Shockwave therapy is never used on the spine here. The neck, back, shoulder and soft-tissue recovery from a typical bridge or A1A crash is what we do.
Injured on the road in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea? The 14-day clock is running.
Call (754) 342-6479, any hour, or send the short form. You will see Dr. McNamara-Krauss, not a rotating provider, and your first treatment happens the same visit.
